SERVICES
Vaccinations
Immunization is an integral part of every child's growth and development. Vaccines are stored in hygienic conditions and administered by trained medical professionals to cause absolutely minimal pain and discomfort.
Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
To provide specialist care to critically ill or injured infants, children, and teenagers, Konark has a state-of-the-art PICU with the latest equipment. It is staffed by doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists who are specially trained and experienced in paediatric intensive care, and who are on call 24x7.
Newborn Screening (NBS)
NBS is a vital preventive health care program that tests babies who look absolutely normal at birth. It screens babies for over 44 uncommon but serious disorders known as Inborn Errors of Metabolism (IEM), which can cause physical disabilities, brain damage, or even death if not diagnosed and treated early.
The NBS program triggers preventive action that ensures better health for the newborn. This test is done when the baby is 48 hours to 13 days old. Abnormal results will be communicated to the doctor/parents within 5-7 days. Normal results will be communicated to the doctor/ parents within 10-12 days.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
The NICU is an ultramodern facility with monitoring units; open and closed incubators; ventilators; analyzers to assist in ventilator management; infusion pumps; piped medical gases and suction; an isolation care unit; and a breast-feeding room.
Doctors and patients also have the support of on-call specialists such as nutritionists, physiotherapists, cardiologists and urologists at Konark.
In addition to fetal medicine; chromosomal analysis, genetic counseling and computerized maternal serum screen programs are also available.
